Raptor Route: Your Guide to Moab's Newest Trail System
The Raptor Route is an exciting network of four distinct trails: Eagle Eye, Hawk's Glide, Falcon Flow, and Kestrel Run.
Eagle Eye, the highest point of the Raptor Route, opened in November 2021. It's 2.3 miles long, and you can access it from the LPS trailhead on Sand Flats Road.
Opened in November 2022, Hawk's Glideis the newest and most advanced section of the Raptor Route, spanning two miles. Expect cliff exposure and technical sections, along with epic views of the La Sals, Abajo, and Henry mountain ranges.
Falcon Flow makes up the lower section of Raptor Route and is 5.7 miles long. By Moab standards, this is a true intermediate trail with nothing overly technical.
Kestrel Run opened in the Fall of 2023 and is two miles long, completing the Raptor Route Trail System.
Extending Your Ride: UPS Full & Lower Section
If you're looking to ride a bit more, a short pedal from the drop-off point leads to the access trail for UPS (Upper Porcupine Singletrack). This allows you to ride one of the seven trails that comprise the Whole Enchilada trail system.
Accessing UPS
• Lower UPS: Pedal 0.25 miles from the drop-off point to Porcupine Rim Campground.
• Entire UPS: (Upper, Middle, Lower):
º Pedal 1.2 miles up the road to the Kokopelli Trail entrance.
º Continue an additional 1.7 miles to the UPS trailhead.
º Note: This option adds 3 miles and 600 feet of climbing.
Exit UPS at the Stop Sign #3 (LPS/UPS connector) and connect to Eagle Eye.

What to bring
The desert is a harsh environment. It can be very hot and is usually extremely dry. We recommend carrying a minimum of 100 oz. of water per rider, if not more. You can never have enough water! It is also essential to bring ample food and snacks to help maintain your energy levels.
Bring a headlamp and extra warm layers, even if you don't plan on being out in the dark. Keep your bike in excellent working condition. Moab is notorious for rattling everything loose and destroying bike frames and components. Mechanical breakdowns that you wouldn't think possible are a daily occurrence out here. (Bring extra tubes, pump, tire patch kit, tube patch kit, tire lever, a spare cable, spare derailleur hanger, master link, multi-tool with chain breaker, lube, and shock pump. Always bring extra layers and a windbreaker or waterproof jacket. Carry sunglasses, sunscreen, a fire starter, a first aid kit, and a cell phone.
Practice the Leave No Trace principles.
